Hello. I was looking at my engine bay and noticed that the hoses going to my intake are different. I bought the car a month ago and this is how i bought it. It has been running fine until about a week ago where i am having startup issues where i need to rev the engine a few seconds after startup until the rpms level out or else it will die.

the first picture shows how the hoses hook up to the stock intake and the second picture shows my engine bay. Referring to the first pic, the blue hose on my car goes to the intake but it is T'd off and goes to two different places. my green hose goes to the intake like normal. the big thing thats wrong is my red hose. mine does not go to the intake. the guy who had the car before me had this hose capped off as well as a big port on the intake capped off.

I am wondering if this would have anything to do with my problem? thanks.

I would hook it up and see what happens,it could be leaking vacuum and that could cause your problem.

it seems that the big hole in the intake is too large for the hose to fit into. idk if i should keep this big hole capped, put the red hose where the green hose is on my intake and put a small breather filter on the green hose. I have seen people do this. is this smart? or do you only put a breather filter on the green hose port if you are boosted?

the valve cover hose is only to circulate the oil vapers from in the engine. not totally needed to be going back into the intake. you can just put a breather on it and it will be okay. not just for boosted people. and connect the "red" hose to the intake. because that one is needed on the intake.

So I found the ad that the guy I bought my 240 from made on midwest240sx. It says the sic and egr are eliminated. Will this have anything to do with the problem I'm having?
