I am replacing all of the hydraulic lifters or cam followers or lash adjusters or whatever the f*** you want to call them. (pissed that I'm even having to do this ). I have seen a couple of aftermarket OEM parts manufacturers and they are significantly cheaper than the cheapest dealership I can find. The lowest dealership price is about $28 plus shipping (~$690). The lowest non-OEM price I can find is $15 with free shipping (~$360).

The brand names I am looking at are "OEQ" and "Top Line". http://www.pitstopautoparts.co...de=NI

The lifters for the RB25DET are the same as the VG30DE between 1990-96. Part number 13231-79S00.

Does anyone have experience with these and/or advice? I'm going to order these today and I'm 99% sure that I am not ordering from the Nissan dealer.

i was going to go aftermarket on my lifters...but it was cheaper for me to get oem nissan ones at 8$ per...alot of the aftermarket ones are made by the same company who makes nissan's lifters, usualy are marked made in japan.

****, I was just about to purchase some lifters from the dealer and I swear that when I looked last week they were ~$11 each! Why did the price skyrocket like that all of a sudden?

For $690, it would make more sense to try and rebuild all of them using the link in your other thread than to buy new OEM ones. Personally, I would consider using the generic ones just because I can't cough up almost $700 for lifters. Then again, judging from your build specs, the price may not be so much of an obstacle for you.

I actually did take them completely apart and they still ticked after I reinstalled them. Buying new ones is the only option I have short of removing the head again to remove the oil passage blocker.

I pulled the trigger on some new aftermarket lifters yesterday so we'll see how that goes. I'm assuming I will have to pre-bleed them myself before installing them. Anybody have some pointers on new lifter install besides just dropping them in and praying that they bleed properly?

douse the head in oil before you start it up. i like to fill the buckets with oil that the lifters are as submerged as possible.if i were you i would pull the head off and remove the plug you installed and just run dual restricted feeds.tomei explcitly states that you shouldnt plug the front feed unless you are running solid lifters.

To update this thread, I got my lifters in the mail last friday and to my surprise they were in individual Nissan boxes! I was expecting them to be some aftermarket lifters, but they were OEM Nissan.
