Aftermarket HU FM/AM problem

ok, i installed my new HU last night and everything workes perfectly except the FM/AM it works it just fades in and out realllllly bad now it use to work perfectly. i hooked up the blue wire from the ant. adapt. to the blue wire from the HU harness but the siginal dosent come in clear at all. if anyone knows whats wrong please feel free to help

u might have a loose connection somewhere, did u solder and shirnk tube ur connections?

You have it hooked up wrong. That blue wire in the HU is for a power antenna, that's if you have an antenna that retracts and extends when you start and stop the car. You're getting a bad signal because the antenna is trying to get signal from behind the HU. You need an antenna adapter and there should be a black wire with a socket on the back of the HU, that's what you need to plug into.

Jemdawg, isn't the blue wire also used to boost the antenna?

Without connecting the blue wires together, I wasn't getting any AM/FM signals. Now they're perfectly clear.

your right it is for power ant. ill try the black one and let ya know

Ok I fixed it the problem was the blue cable from the wireing harness was loose and i just had to re-crimp it to the blue cable from the stereo harness so, ya. thats it.
