Hi everyone,

I just purchased a new Murano (2011 SL AWD with tech package) and would like to upgrade the stock halogen projector headlights with an aftermarket HID kit.

After a bit of research there seems to be two predominant manufacturers that sell aftermarket HID options. These being either the DDMTunning or iJDMTOY kits.
With either one my specs are for a 35W kit with either the 5K or 6K Kelvin color.

I was wondering if there if some first hand experience with either one of these kits and 2nd Gen Murano users?

Thanks!
Rich

I would go with DDM. I have two sets on my car (lows and fogs) and a set on my wife's car and I have never had a problem with them and plus they have a lifetime warranty! :bigthumb:

Not that this is what you were looking for in terms of HID's, but a low cost alternative is to install the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs. They are very bright and very white. They are not as bright as the true HID's, but I love them. I have installed them on my Armada and they look awesome.

So I went ahead and installed the kid I bought online.

Here are the results:

Overall impression, the improvement is superb. The light gain versus the stock halogens was most definitely worth a $150 investment.

I would strongly recommend it to every one considering the upgrade. I will try to get better photos sometime soon since it was about -12'F when I took these pictures a few weeks ago.

So after going ahead and buying me a drop in HID kit I've managed to come across a set of mint OEM bixenon assemblies for a steal!!!!

Has anyone successfully replaced their OEM projector hallogens for OEM bixenons on their 2nd Gen Murano?

Does anyone know if this is a drop in setup or will adjustments have to be made to the wiring, etc?

Thanks!
