I cheated and swapped in the entire seat, computers and switches from a Q45t. Are you planning on using the switches in the kit or trying to wire up OEM switches?96’er wrote:.......but would like to hear from those that have modified the stock seats......
Mike I have some extra heated seat switches that you can have to do the rear seats what would be slick is to take a piece of plastic(or wood to match the front (old center console)) and mount the switches in the rear ashtray. then each person in the back could control thier seat.goody94q45 wrote:

I looked at the website and I sure like the idea of of heated rear seats. Same kit as for the front seat. If you're not familar with a hog ring or how the leather cushion is attached to the seat frame it's pretty easy to pull out the rear seat bottom, flip it over and see how a seat is put together and what you'll be faced with pulling the front seat apart.
I really enjoy my heated seats. Good luck.
Mike, good idea about pulling out the rear seat bottom as this project will be my first pulling the leather off.goody94q45 wrote:

Bad News: The seat has to come out to remove the individual cushions.Good news: After removing the front and rear trim from below the seat (phillips screws) it's only 4 bolts and 1 electrical connection and the seat is out.96’er wrote:So this project would work better by pulling the seat out of the car the install the heat pad versus trying to do it in the car?
Pull both black tabs at the base of the bottom cushion at the same time and lift. It will pull right out.96’er wrote:How do you remove the back seat to see how the hog clips attach to the leather?
You'll need to unbolt seat belts to remove the seat back, not the seat bottom.Paul Wall wrote:I think you have to remove the rear seat belts to completely remove the rear seat.
I was just dreaming out loud but it would be a great mod for someone in a cold weather state who uses the back seat.silver2k2 wrote: Mike I have some extra heated seat switches that you can have to do the rear seats.......
Open a Picasa Gmail account, it free and hosts over giggoody94q45 wrote:The problem I'm having right now is picture hosting since Q45.org hosting has gone away along with every pic I ever posted on this forum. I'll take a pic and email it to you. I was pretty comfortable at Q45.org but need to be retrained on how to use a different picture hosting site.
Thanks Paul for hosting these pics for me. I'm going to see if I can work my way through starting up a Picasa gmail account soon so I can start posting pics again.Paul Wall wrote:
