Does anyone know where I can buy a new set of headlights either after market or stock for rather cheap? What I want to do is paint the silver that is on the inside of the housing black, just like it was on the white Altima at SEMA. http://www.turbochargers.com/g..._0493

When I had my Celica, there were some ppl on the Celica forums that opened up the lights and painted the inside, the problem is you have to heat the lights in the oven, separate them, paint them, and put them back together and get the epoxy to seal all around again. I really dont want to do that and end up messing something up so much that I cant get it back to normal, which is why I would like to find some inexpensive replacements to paint instead. Here is how far I have gotten in my search to have this look:

I contacted lightwurkz, the company that did the lights for the sema car. They want $480 to do it. On top of the expense, I would have to mail my headlights out to California so they could work on them. I cant not have headlights on my daily driver for a month or more. If I got them back and it wasnt sealed right and let water and whatnot in, I could send them back and they would redo it on some new lights, but there again is a month without headlights at night, I dont think my fogs would cut it lol.

I called the dealership to see how much a pair of headlights would be and they are $937 for each light. Not my idea of a good deal.

I work for Fleet Management for the state of KY, managing the inventory of state vehicles. I deal with all of the wrecks that come in, and part of that is ordering parts. I have looked on the aftermarket site we use (orderkeystone.com) and they dont have anything either.

It has become quite a hassle to get this look. I am going to order overlays for my tails, but for the headlights I would rather the look be under the skin rather than over it. If nothing else then I guess I will just get the overlays and black the whole headlight out, but I would rather do what I can to get it done this way first.

what type of headlamp do you want? The ones with the factory HID or the regular ones (The two are NOT the same)

If you want just the regular ones , they'll run you about 194.60 for each lamp ~ $400.00 total! http://www.trademotion.com/par...gid=2

If you want the HID compatible headlamps, they are much more expensive... ~ $660.00 per lamp (ouch), $1,200.00 total!http://www.trademotion.com/par...gid=2

You can get these from http://www.everythingnissan.com, I've gotten parts from them directly for years now, their prices are MUCH better than the inflated prices at the dealership!

The only other way to go is the way that you're doing it, keep an eye out for salvage or totaled brand new A/C's.... shoot, actually, contact Vhernandez919 on this forum and see if she has already given her car up to the insurance company...track her car, and if noone purchases it as a salvage vehicle, i'll go to some junkyad, and you can grab them there!zerothread/294427

Good luck and keep us posted!

I just remembered, the actual link I sent to you is for the sedan's headlights which are NOT the same as the coupe's headlights... just call everything nissan and request the part for the coupe! I'm sure the price is still about the same!

I saw a few on ebay. It's rare being that the car is fairly new, but if you keep checking, you'll find some reasonably priced.
