I have a question and have searched with no answer, so i thought i would ask. I got a deal on a header from a friend for super cheap, and installed it onto me car. I was going to buy cat-back exhaust for it but i don't have the money as of yet, so i might have to hook the stock exhaust back up. The header is 2.5in and i don't know what stock exhaust for a 240 is. If i bought a universal cat to connect to the header...id have to weld flanges onto the ends. My question is, if i welded a flange for the 2.5 header to one side and another flange for stock exhaust on the other would that work? This is the cat im getting because id rather replace my cat then reuse the 17 year old one.
if you can find one thats less then 60$ with flanges ill happily buy it, but as for now, i have a friend that will weld for me for free so all i would have to is by that cat and flanges.
i might do that...then when i need the cat just buy it when i have the money, cause atm the cat that was on my car, if i take the bolts out of it to disconnect the piping its gonna fall apart. thanks for the help...on ebay all the test pipes are 3in, will that bolt up fine to 2.5in exhaust?
