I have a 05 Nissan Pathfinder with the bose head unit and a factory dvd system. Now i want to replace the head unit with a double din nav (pioneer Avic-D1) but I would like to be able to retain the use of the factory dvd system. Does anyone know if this is possible? Has anyone been able to do this?

I have not done it, but on an expedition with factory video, we had to relocate the headunit in the vehicle to retain DVD function and get audio output from it to run into the replacement deck.

Anything is possible... Depends on how much effort you want to devote to it. First thing to do is remove the factory deck and investigate how the DVD system interfaces with the Factory radio... Nest step is to figure out what each pin on the multi-pin connector does, then make a cable that will supply a signal to your aftermarket deck (assuming you have picked an aftermarket deck with some type of AUX input).-Pete
