i know underdrive pulleys have been discussed to death but i want to try and figure out some alternatives to removing the harmonic dampener .... i know people say that the crankshafts on the KA20 are internally balanced but so are the crankshafts on the old muscle cars and they too had harmonic dampeners ... i am weary to take off the dampener on my KA because of the undetectable damage they could create to my motor .... so firstly does anybody make a harmonic dampener designed to work with underdrive pulleys .... and also is there a pulley set designed to use the stock crank pulley???

Contrary to popular belief, there is not a harmonic dampener on the KA. There is a chunk of rubber molded into the OEM pulley, but it's to reduce NVH and reduce shock to the accesories when you kick the A/C on...

You don't need one, and there's no benefit to adding one...

Look in the FSM - It nevers mentions one.

I think this is another myth perpetuated by an incorrect FAQ over at 240SX.org...
