Hey everyone,

I'm trying to get my project running well as it's running very rich. My stepfather and I are building the car together and he is adamant that the aftermarket FPR that we have on the car currently is necessary, while I don't feel it's necessary, and could be causing our fuel issues.

We're running a Walbro 255 and 740cc DW injectors.

What do you guys think?

You're going to want a fuel pressure regulator of some kind for sure. Which one do you currently have? Is it adjustable?

With no fuel pressure regulator, you wont have much pressure at all... maybe 1-2 psi. The fuel will just be circulating around from the tank, to the engine, and back to the tank with no restriction.

A fuel pressure gauge is absolutely necessary (for tuning and troubleshooting) and a GOOD aftermarket FPR is a great idea as well. I had success with an ebay FPR for a short while but when I realized I could blow up my engine that I worked so hard to turbo by using a cheap fuel pressure regulator, the decision to buy a good one was a must. I'm using Fuelab, which suited me best after some homework (a comparison article showed superior build quality compared to a couple of other top brands.)
