Aftermarket exhaust for M35X?

It seems I have the dreaded cracked Y-pipe issue. Which isn't terrible yet, but it seems to be getting worse every month. So I want to replace the Y-pipe and possibly the entire exhaust while I'm at it. But after checking with a few suppliers, it seems most after-market will NOT fit the all-wheel drive M35X. So does anyone know of a brand that will fit the X? or, is there a fix for the Y-pipe issue (other than just buying another Infiniti Y-pipe)?

Thanks.

How did you not find this? I personally made a write up on this issue and found it was very cheap and easy to fix!

Good luck

I don't know why my searches didn't turn this up...but thanks! So just to be certain, I'll need the Motordyne Y-pipe for a G37, a Fujitsubo axle-back, plus the gaskets and cat nuts. Where did you get the Fujitsubo, because I'm having a tough time finding any in stock. So i winder if the MD Y-pipe will bolt onto any after market, or the stock mid-pipe?

Thanks again for all the great info!

Cj - which Y-pipe did you buy exactly, cause I don't see anything like it on the Motordyne website.....

any aftermarket M exhaust will fit the g37 y pipe. the exact one i got is still on ebay at the moment. $140 shipped. however i also got my fujitsubo on ebay for an unbelievable price, unfortunatly its out of stock now.. if only the y pipe need be replaced it would definitely bolt right on to the oem mid pipe and mufflers,

cool. I will grab that Y-pipe now. I guess the Y-pipe is the only fitment issue on the X. But with this solved, I could go with any after market axle-back. Is that right?

I now have the M2 Y-pipe, but I still have a couple of questions: Will the M2 Y-pipe bolt on to the factory mid-pipe? Not sure if the diameters are the same or not?

Will any aftermarket cat-back attach to the M2 Y-pipe? I thought the answer was 'yes', but several manufacturers (Megan, HKS, Stillen) all say that their cat-backs work on the RWD platform only (not the M35X)? I'm sure the Fujitsubo WILL work with the X (thanks cj). So what makes the Fujitsubo work with X, and why will the others not?

Lastly, where can I get the exhaust parts installed? Calls to Midas and Monro both got me a 'NO'.....they'll only install factory parts they order. Anyone know of a shop near Boston that will install after-market exhaust?

Thanks!!!!!

150% yes they will all fit (i called megan and personally asked arjay if any of there y pipes would fit my M35x and he told me "No." he was completely wrong. i assure you it will fit.) the y pipe between the m35 and 35x are the same length but only shaped differently, after the y pipe, any exhaust designed for an M, whether it a 45 or a 35 (X or otherwise) will be an easy bolt on application.

good luck, if you have any other questions just ask! :dblthumb:

PS: please post some pics of whatever set up you go with, i love stuff like this!

cj - was this the one you asked about? http://www.meganracing.com/product.asp? ... 8&catid=10

Will that fit a 2010 m35x without any mods? After some searching and reading... it looks like it should, but wanted to confirm before I buy.

Also, any notable difference for the Y pipe between Megan and M2?

Looks the same but with burnt tips and new logo. I don't think it will look that good.

@ross6200 - I'm selling a pair of Tanabe Medallion Exhaust for 05-07 M35 M45. They will fit the X models as well. Asking $300+shipping. But I can work with you on shipping since you're on Nico... eBay's selling these for $515+ right now!

Here's a clip of an M with the Medallions, Megan Midpipe, and an FX Y-pipe. PM or email me at [email protected] if you're interested.

New type is hot, I saw something like them on a GTR but with bigger tips and it looked crazy.

I just wish that the tips would stick out a little more.
