Is there a company that makes aftermarket drive shafts for the S13/S14 240s?

they dont have one for the 240sx, but at the top of the page they say they will make one for you if you give them the specs you need. they only go to about 1200 bucks max, so they arent that bad.

i imagine theres a pretty good wheel hp gain from using the aluminum driveshaft. id like to see a before and after dyno to see how much it helps.

Quote »Enjuku Racing Aluminum Driveshaft for Nissan 240SX w/ABS, 95-98. This is a one piece lightweight aluminum driveshaft for the S14 240sx and SR20DET powered 240sx. It eliminates the 2 piece, heavy steel stock driveshaft. Weight on this driveshaft is only 11 lbs! Reduces rotating mass and is significantly stronger than stock. As an added bonus, the stock driveshaft bushing support can be used as a driveshaft safety loop. [/quote]

Ive never really installed or been around driveshafts, but 11 pounds seems rather light IMO

the cf will twist when u dump the clutch? i highly doubt that. the epoxy resin in the cf driveshaft is very hard and stiff.

I think carbonfiber is stronger, but you may want to check it out. The main benifit of carbonfiber is that if the driveshaft were to break it would become like a broom causing little damage compared to a big metal rod. Carbonfiber is also lighter, but more expensive.

CF really isnt lighter, its just much stronger which means you can use less material. less material=less weight

Thats what I was trying to say... That the driveshaft as a whole would be lighter.

I'm willing to bet that a CF driveshaft will bend, as far as i know all driveshafts twist to some extent... when talking about sticky tires and large amounts of HP

i'm just having brain freeze w/ this cold climate...

Y didn't the engineers just use a single piece driveshaft for these cars in the 1st place/ y involve a 2-piece w/ a carrier bearing?

I think the better question would be how many ft/lbs...he is running a V8 remember and slicks....the factory driveshafts seem to have no problem holding up to 400+ ft/lbs on street tires...i would assume the aluminum one would withstand that and more...
