OK, I've got a light grey connector that's located just above the brake pedal and connected to the same bracket as the door lock timer. I'm using a $14 USB to serial port adapter cable and need to ID the comm port.yodawill2000 wrote:Pretty simple actually.Find out what comm port your computer see's as the USB adapter.Set that as the comm port in the software. Then click ECU finder. Not sure what version it is.Just named Emance consult.
It looks like things should work with it set up to access COM 8 via the USB cable.GerryO wrote:

In terms of interior disassembly it's probably easier to access the ECM than it is the Consult connector and so far nothing is detected, but I got a late start this afternoon.
Any other hints/suggestions?
Thanks!
i thought 93-95 were OBD 1 and 96-97 were OBD 2xxcrashxx wrote:since were on this topic, anyone on here have an iphone or ipod touch and checked out the program called rev lite??? on their site, they say you can get a 802.11 wifi adapter that will connect to your ODB II port, and it allows the iphone/itouch to communicate with the ECU, and give you readouts and important crap like that... however, on their site, they didnt list any specific devices to purchase that are compatiable. anyone know if theres any devices that will connect to a '95 j30's ecu, that will give it wifi posibilities???
