I know there have been previous posts about companies that *might* create/make a clutch for the 1st gen Altima Coupes but is there anything out there right now that fits? Maybe from a Sentra Spec V or previous Gen Altimas?

I want something with more bite/grab. Is the clutch different between the 3.5 and the 2.5?

Thanks,

Scott

If I remember correctly mcheddadi posted that a Sentra SE-R Spec V from 02-09 has the same transmission as the A/C 2.5 and 3.5 . Yes the 2.5 and 3.5 A/C have the same trannies. So that being said it might be possible that you can find a clutch from those years Sentra's that might fit the A/C. Double check and do some research before you do anything though. Hope that helps you out dude.

Well I was in the middle of a sentence asking why you would need any more clutch than stock for a 2.5, then I looked in your sig. Never mind.

350z clutch or maxima should work. you should go to ACT clutch and have them test fit their sentra specV one and the 350z and g35 ones. shouldn't be a problem and you'll maybe end up getting it for free

Ok, ACT Clutch has awesome support. They e-mailed me back RIGHT AWAY!

Here's a excerpt:

Scott,

Thank you for your e-mail and interest in ACT products. As of right now we have not developed a kit for this application. We will however take note of your request and if we do develop such a clutch kit, we will contact you by sending a new product release via e-mail. Keep in mind that the more people who call in or send an e-mail showing interest for this vehicle, the better the possibility for us to develop kits for it. As of right now, we really haven’t received much interest in it. If you have any additional questions, please contact us using the information below.

Here's another e-mail:

Scott,

I will definitely send your information to our R&D department and if they require a vehicle for R&D and you are local, they will contact you.

Regards,

------

I let him know that we have a few members in CA. If you are interested in an aftermarket clutch that performs better than stock (why would you want less?), then let me know. I can compile a list of names/interested members to see if we can get something made. I let him know the details of the transmission and to possibly test fit clutches from the Spec V, etc.

:D

Can you confirm if this works with the 2.5? If it *might* I may order one to test.

Let me know, or msg on msn, etc.

almost 100% sure it would work. don't see why it wouldn't. jump on it! ask for reduced prototyping price since you got a 2.5S. DO IT!

wow, i thought the clutch release was old news since i had made a post about it before and got no response (thinking it was a re-post)...seems as though they have an aluminum flywheel also... i had the spec stage 3+ in my STi and i must say, compared to the many ACT's clutchmasters, twin disc's i have driven, the spec amazed me. The pedal felt softer than the oem STi configuration (big plus for me especially in the high traffic nyc area and plus it looks weird if your left calf muscle starts getting bigger than your right..lol) yet it took launch after launch for about 15000 miles @ 421whp and 401 wtq and no issues at all, sold the car with it still installed. just incase you guys were looking i wanted to put my experience with the clutch/pressure plate combination out there...happy holidays NICOclub
