Hi,

I recently bought some blacked out headlights with clear Corners. But the problem was that headlight adjusting knobs are FAKE. So they refunded my money and gave me a set of headlights for free. So my question is can i can take out that plastic thing out of the headlight(]where it controls the light and replace with the oem one so it shots out straight.

Anyone with Blackout headlights had a smilar problem and I also have Blacked out clear corners for sale.

I'll probably let it for for 65 since i paid about 200UDS for the whole set. Btw slick did you make any modification to your headlights. This is my second set and both of them don't shot straight.

None of the pairs of headlights I bought for my Pathy ever shot straight (I've switched out four pairs). Even the pair I have on there now, the right one is waaaaayyyyyy too far up and the left is waaaaaaayyyy too far down. It's makes my car looks pretty stupid at night, but it's a pain in the a** to aim them correctly.

I'm on my second pair of headlight but the adjusting knobs don't move. There FAKE. Is it possible to swap it out with OEM one.

are you sure its fake? to me, it seems ridiculous that a company in china or taiwan would take the extra step to make fake knobs. ive bought cheap aftermarket headlights for my other cars and the knobs have always worked... you know you need to turn the knob with a screwdriver right? like theres two slots above the knob, for a phillips to go down and twist the teeth.... its too hard to twist with just your fingers....

It takes a LOT of turns and you can't physically see the lamp move. It literally takes hundreds of turns to see a change. I recommend using a power screwdriver or drill with a phillips head bit.

can the adjustment screws be turned with the light off the truck?

If they don't budge, can some light oil or silicone spray or even graphite be used to make them turn easier, assuming they turn at all.

If nothing else, you can use some washere to help artificially raise/lower the light depending on where you put the washers and how many you use.

I seriously doubt that this is possible, if it were true, the amount of threads on the adjustment screw would be more then 10,000 threads pr inch.....that just isn't possible unless they used some sort of partical laser on some sub-atomic level to create such a thread pitch. Its more likely that the adjustment screws are for asthetics only, and in order to aim the lights, you need to take a trip to the hard ware store, and buy about $10 in small rubber washers and use said washers as shims. It will be a long painful process to correctly adjust the beams this way, but I don't see any other option. I plan on retrofiting some projectors in my stock beams, and spraying the factory housings black....That will eliminate any forseable adjustment problems.

Ok so hundreds was a little extreme, but it takes a significant amount of turns. The FSM says to start by tightening the adjusting screws until you can't turn it anymore. Then to loosen the adjusting screws the same amount for each lamp so they are perfectly even with each other. I seriously got carpal tunnel syndrome just trying to aim them.

If the lamps are DOT approved (or Canadas equivalent), then they have to have functional adjusting screws by law. If they aren't DOT approved, then I probably wouldn't even buy them. Also non-DOT approved lamps wouldn't pass inspection in Jersey.

I take things to litarally sometimes...?

I really like the look of these lights, but I think at the very least, I'd bake my stock lights, and paint them black...I would however want to buy the blacked out corners
