what would you guys think of giving your stripped block, with 4 stock rods, and CP 10.5:1 comp. pistons to a machine shop and saying, put this together, measuring everything, and ordering aftermarket bearings for it?

im so confused as to what size bearkings to order/how to measure it all, that this is what im about to do.

i have heard that OEM bearings own though.

Any decent machine shop *should* be able to get that done.

The CPs are stock sized I assume...so the rods won't need to be modded, correct? Stock wrist pin, easy.

Then the bearing can be measured easily with the right tools, just make sure they have the FSM specs.

Kinda simple for 'em I'd think...

But I've never had a block built...I like stock blocks + boost :)

i loved my stock block.... but then...130k miles, (after 30k miles of beating on a 100k mile SOCH):150,170,170,145

140k miles, after 10k more of beating, the 2 weeks of turboing and pinging for a week while thinking the noise was my timing chain:110,150,150,105.

Need to replace rings. Goign stock again, but hopefully gettign Altima rings... anyone know from where and how much? And what work will need to be done (honing?)
