A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Last year I installed a complete DET w/stock turbo into my 91 SE-R and replaced the axles with new OEM's. I had to wait a year before I could take it to the track and when I did today,on street tires, I broke one of the axles right at the end of the splines in the transmission on the second pass. I read that axles are not supposed to be a problem SE-Rs but I'm not playing this game again......

I'm tired of surfing and only getting OEM websites. Where can I get aftermarket axle hubs or complete assy's, and who's the best that dosen't require KY before purchasing from ????

Raxle axles were suppose to be top shelf back in the day. I haven't looked into them as of late because I don't have issues breaking axles(knock on wood) and making close to 300whp. Most of the time its the driver that causes the issues. Did you put in after-market motor and transmission mounts?

LOL !!!! I graduated from high school and would have almost been out of college before my car was built(1991) at the factory !!!! To me red light burn offs are just advertising how fast your car isn't.I didn't even do a pre stage burn and I left the line at about 3500. The few times I have hit it hard off the line it just spins into 2nd (even with a warm up) so I never do rev limiter launches. Actually, I think it was a P.O.S. axle but if I have to change it I would rather just upgrade and not do it again. Getting that axel stub out of the spider gear is not going to be fun.

So, you think I should just put another OEM back in it ??? Does anybody make aftermarket axles for it ???? I've seen the transmission end hub/shaft for other cars, and even that would be fine, I don't really care if it breaks outside the transmission.

I just put new OEM motor mounts in it. I know flex is more important in FWD's, but I drive the car every day and hated urethane in RWD cars that I've had in the past.

Sorry, I thought I mentioned it the first time, but I didn't. My car is a Sentra, not a 240SX......

Wheel hop kills axles more than anything and drag strip passes on street tires equal all kinds of wheel hop. I know you put new oem mounts in, but that aren't up to speed to handle the extra torque and power you make with a DET setup. Sorry, people want daily drivers, then a turbo sentra probably isn't the best idea for that or live with the added stiffness of good mounts. Remember with added performance, you have to sacrifice in luxury somewhere. I have the energy suspension inserts in all four corners for 6yrs now. I could drive the car daily and that wouldn't bother me one bit, the clutch on the other hand is a different story though. Like I said, you can try raxle axles, but my understanding is they are re-manufactured just a bit differently than say autozone or napa axles. They aren't that much stronger and probably not worth the extra cash and time you will have to wait. Just go back with a autozone special, at least they have a life time warranty...

Good luck.
