hey guys, I'm getting 4 Kenwood KFC-1689ie speakers next week and an Alpine CDA-9807 head unit the week after. I read on the audio portion of the forum that each speaker has it's own amp and that someone had installed an aftermarket head unit and it sounded ****ty. he also added that when he bypassed the stock amp and ran the speakers through the head unit's internal amp that it sounded a lot better. My question is, is it true that each speaker has its own amp, and if I installed the components would it be better to install everything at the same time or could I install the speakers when I get them and then the head unit later? Does it make a difference how I do things?

OK thats only on the SE's (i think) It was an option for the S13 i know for sure. S14 i ahve no clue about. Yes just bypass this and junk it. It was in my Coupe and it sounded like sh*t even with new speakers.
