Has anybody tried an aftermarket - FRAM - ATF filter (mesh)? I am referring to the filter inside the pan, not an external filter.

If it is consistent with their oil filter standards, I wouldn't even let it ride home in a box in my car.

Currently, I'm using one from Car Quest - Claimed on the box to be "made by the world's largest supplier of filters to OEM manufacturers".

I'll let you know how it worked out, in several years...

Many better available for pennies more. Fram is the K-mart of filter manufacturers. Even the Chinese couldn't out crap them.

Fram manufactures its filters in China now. Used to be made in Israel.

Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like I should stay away from the Fram filter...

Doesn't Consumer Reports rate Fram like #1?
