Did you lose the antenna itself or the gear teeth?
In my case, the gear teeth are stripped but I can pull up the antenna up and down manually (just don't ever push it down all the way inside the fender).

I have about 1/2" of antenna left. I want to stay away from powered antennas. I would rather have one that I remove if needed for a car wash, instead of having to turn my radio off completely.

If all you got is 1/2" sticking out and you can manually retract/extend it, I would say just leave it as it is. Mine sticks out about an inch and a half (sorry had to put that emoji there).
I run my car through the car wash without any issues whatsoever.

I meant that's all that's left. I can't extend it anymore. It's hollow on the inside. It was just snapped off from the previous owner.
I bought a cheap universal one at the auto parts store. Screwed it into what was left of my broken old one, epoxied it in place, and cut the wires to the power antenna motor.
Either that or you can just unplug the antenna motor (if I remember reading an older thread correctly).
For the OP, the antenna mast would be the same irrespective of powered or manual.

Typically when the either the mast snaps or it fails to go up and down the motor and control is fine. All you have to do is replace the mast -- $35. You unscrew the locking nut and turn the radio on and the whole thing pops out. There is long toothed plastic rod that is attached to the top of the mast. This gets pulled into the antenna motor. Replace/ tighten nut
even if it broke off they are typically long enough inside to come out -- other wise you have to get to the motor and remove the cover
