Sorry if this has been asked before but i searched and got nothing as far as the versa goes...

is it possible to hook an aftermarket amp and subs to the stock versa head unit?i heard its not possible with most cars but was wondering because the versa already has a small sub in it.

well if you want to amp the SPEAKERS it is going to be a LOT harder... but as for a sub, all you would need is an amp with a line level imput, or an adapter... which just takes the signal from the speakers, converts them so the amp can process them. i have an amp that has line level imputs... its a 4 channel amp but can be bridged to a 2 channel... an Alpine MRP-F300... if you want to buy it make me an offer... [email protected]... its BRAND new... but back to your question. yes your able to

That's what I'm doing with my stock HU. I have a kenwood amp the KAC-8104D and it takes line level inputs from the HU itself. It's a mono amp for the 12" sub, works fine and I replaced the stock speakers with aftermarkets. Sounds great.

you guys just made my day. thanks so much.

the story is my mom doesn't like the look of aftermarket head units and since its her car for now i cant put anything in there, she said if i can put in subs without voiding the warranty or changing the head unit everything's good.

thanks again guys, i would be interested in that amp but i dont know if it would be powerful enough to handle the 2 10" subs i just purchased. Plus i have had this setup planned for awhile so i think i am going with a similar kenwood amp to Mile High Versa's.

i wanted to use the stock head unit, but there isnt a high pass freq. built into the stock unit... did you have a hard time running the power cord through the little rubber piece? cuz i did with 4 gauge wire...
