I didnt want to put this in classifieds because this has a little story behind it.Does anyone on this board have a Series 2 RB25DET and have gone to aftermarket coils.Well what i am asking is if anybody has series II RB25DET coils that they are either A) Willing to let me borrow or B) Buy them .

I need these coils inorder to check a few things with my mis-firing problem with my RB25DET. Everytime i try and go over 19-20 psi i start to blow spark out and have tried a variety of things. So now i would like to try some different OEM SII Coils. Please help me out

How do you tell if they are series II or not, cause I have a set I could let you borrow if you are willing to pay shipping both ways.

It's going to be awhile before my motor is done, so I'm willing to help a fella out.

btw, let us know what kind of problems and what not you are having, so we all can avoid this in the future...also kinda keeps it away from the for-sale/wtb section

Thanks i would appreciate itWell a series I uses an igniter chip and does not have internal igniters with in the coils. The series II uses internal igniters with in the coil packs and does not use an igniter chip.

I knew about the ignitors and all, but I still can't tell if mine are series I or II so I'll just post up a pic later after I go down to the shop.

Well check this out....If you have an igniter Chip in your wire harness that means you have a Series 1 motor, and have series 1 coils.

well my motor is uninstalled cause i'm building the bottom end right now, and I know I don't have an ignitor chip, but I don't know if it's just cause it's missing or if I'm not supposed to have one. Cause the harness is laying in the back seat of my chassis.

well in all honestly S1 Igniter chips are pretty big. And i am sure that would see it on the harness its normally plugged into the harness. and comes on the back of your valve cover

I'm leaving at 4 to go take pics of it/them. Also I heard there is a difference in the TPS sensor between a SI and SII, so I'm going to look at that.

Blowing out spark at higher psi, could that have something to do with plugs? possibly 1 or 2 steps colder would be a good idea

Well in this case i have tried several plugs and several diffent gaps. I have gone to a plug as cold as a 8E and have tried a gap as low as .020. Still blowing out spark.
