hey i got a wierd question

so i went to a trackday on friday and raced about 130 miles around a 1.1 mile ccw layed out track.

now on saturday morning when i cranked my car it made high pitched cranking noise (kinda like some race cars i guess) and started fine and engine still runs same too.

so i was wondering what would cause the cranking sound to be so different now (it seems like its cranking speed is up too)

hope its nothing serious

one of 2 things come to mind, either the starter is waring out or you have low compression(faster cranking speed). warm it up and do a text book compression test on the engine see if it is low in the specified range.

yea i think its the starter cause this morning when i turned the key all i heard was some horrible metaly noise

after the trackday nothing was wrong with it.. just sounded wierd the next day.. and then the next day it didnt start (today)

why does it go bad overnight lol

EDIT: i went out after work and wiggled the shifter and put it into gears and then tried starting it and it started though i heard a highishly pitched noise as it cranked (thats usually not there)
