After TCU update, USB not working :-/

So I finally had time to go to the dealership to have the system updated in the hopes that it would resolve the streaming audio issues I've been having since i bought my 2011 M56x. The good news is the wireless streaming is somewhat functional; the bad news is now the USB doesn't work! Anyone else have this issue and know of a fix I can execute without another 3+ hour visit to the dealership?

Hey guys. Sorry for the delayed response. Work has been super busy and just when I thought I'd be able to resume relatively consistent participation on the forum it got crazy again. A few updates:
1. Yes, it was a fuse that caused the USB to stop working
2. When I said the bluetooth was somewhat functional, I was wrong. Not only did my music streaming issue resume, I also began having the call audio drop issue.
3. After spending a couple hours at the dealership they were able to gather enough data to justify ordering a replacement unit. Should be in so I hope to get it installed some time this week. I'll post feedback on that.

thanks for the update - so many threads get dropped and you never know what happened or what the solution to the problem was, until someone starts digging around with the search function and drags up the orphan thread.

I had the same thing happen with my USB port AND my iphone 32 pin port and I thought I was headed for a multi-hundred control module replacement, but found a blown fuse

Yeah. I'll definitely post updates once the replacement gets installed. I have an appointment for Friday. I wish the only issue was the USB, but I'm having horrible bluetooth issues so much so that I don't use it for anything now; not even calls. It started off with the music streaming not working, now nothing does. Hope it gets resolved with the replacement.

O, so I had the new unit installed yesterday. Streaming music is still painfully inconsistent. My calls work fine again, thankfully. One problem I didn't realize until after I left the dealership was I had updated my maps to 2016; this unit only has the original version installed. Not sure if the dealership is going to update at no cost. I Called customer service and they weren't of much help.

Checked in with the dealer. I still have my install CDs and also the activation code. They said they'd be able to update it for me. I just have to find the time to get over there and let them do it.

Just a heads up, I did the same repair u have done and had the same issue. The install cds only work once. And u don't need the dealer to do it. Grab your disks and put them in.

The dealer ended up installing the newest year maps on my car.
