due to the fact that our cars and most of our engines (KA24, CA18, SR20, RB**) are in their teens and have gone through heat, cold, vibration, and some hard times they get some faulty bolts...

I have had two experiences snapping bolts due to old age and warping... one was on friday when i was torqing my cam bolts only to 6.7foot pounds, it snapped inside the hole so i had to buy a thread die and a fetcher to drill it out and one new bolt... another experience with snapping a bolt was about 30min ago when i was bolting down the last bolt of the thermostat housing, luckily the tread was till sticking out so i was able to use some needle nose pliers to screw it out.

MY SUGGESTION is when you guys get into your engine or around your engine... replace your bolts (grade A bolts from kragen or any parts store), install arp head studs, and if the bolt is all the way down buy isnt tightening STOP and take the bolt out a replace it right away

Hope fully my experiences will help you from having the same problems and wont slow you down

I thought everyone knew that when a bolt stops threading in to take it out and chase the hole with a tap? Use Anti-Seize people, its a life saver and worth its weight in gold.
