I had the problem today. Everything was running perfect and fine until my friend started the car in gear and let the clutch go sending the car jerking.

After that moment all hell went loose. Fuel pump wouldnt turn give gas because it kept blowing the 10a fuse.

Once that was replaced the car would start and idle perfect and once I touch the gas I would hear a slight hissing by the intake manifold side and then the car would die out as soon as I touch the gas.

So I recheck the fuse and guess what! It was blown so I go back to the wiring and figure out the problem. Now after sorting everything out and the car idles perfect again NOTHING IS HAPPENING WHEN I PRESS THE GAS!

I mean absolutely nothing! When I give it gas the rev meter wouldnt even jump. Only when I jerk the pedal a few times will it go slightly higher and shoot up. But once I shoot it to 6 and let it go the car would die.

My only main problem now is that I know theres a short somewhere that keeps blowing my 10a fuse (My brother suggested that I probably did a ****ty soldering job for the fuse pump contacts thats why it shorted the fuse. But this problem was never apparent until afterthe jerk)The only main concern I have is that my motor wont rev when I give it gas! It will rev after aggressive pedaling but other then that the rev meter wouldnt even jump!

I'm absolutely stumped! The car ran perfect before that little accidental "jerk"

I'm also running a BLITZ BOV on the hot side right after the turbo. The spring tension is set to the lowest right now(allen screw all the way out) and it blows off pretty easy. When I shot it to 6k and let go the idle would fall all the way down past 800 and then die but any blowing off before that would be non problematic (Idle starts to stumble past 4k). It seems that the more tension I give the spring the easier it is for the engine to die.

I was told it could be that Im not recirculating and that my ic piping might be loose but I've checked all piping with secure connections and my friend's Blitz doesnt have no problem like mines.

Pull the pump and bench test it, check the wires where they run through the plate for the gas tank its a common spot foe the wires to get corroded. Just sounds like a loose wire causing the pump to not supply enough fuel. Get a volt meter and start checking for continuity.

bench tested the pump and its good. CHecked the wires and connections and it turns out that the positive terminal wire came loose.

Resoldered the wire and put the pump assembly back with new fuse. Car started for 5 seconds and dies again. Pull fuse out and its BLOWN

The weird thing is that it only blows when the pump is pumping gas. If I left it sitting in the tank without securing it it would run fine without blowing the fuse. I'm damn stumped

I got a volt meter but I dont know where to start for continuity. Any pointers?

Thanks

I'm having the same problem. anything yet?Ok. I didn't bench test the pump, but checking all the power to it, the pumps power wire is @ 1.438 volts whether the ignition is on or off. correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it supposed to be at 0 when ign=off and source voltage when ign is on? (it actually is getting power. I'm just too slow to get back there in time....d'oh)

the grounds test fine for now. The car has an adjustable FPR, noticed it had backed out and screwed it back down. do you think the pump burned itself out pumping too much fuel?

The fuel gauge isn't reading either.(maybe cuz I don't have the pump connected right now. d'oh) I just have this feeling if I connect it and start the car, it'll blow again.damn.

Yeah, reconnected pump and just turned the key on...pump doesn't whine. it just gives out some half-hearted gurgling. time for a new warlbro

On my case it turned out the jerk ruptured the solder on one of the connections for the fuel pump. A quick resolder fixed up everything

Glad you pinpointed the problem so fast. I have a standard walbro replacement pump if you need one

after switching to a walbro pump your suppose to replace the 10amp fuse with a 15amp. Stepping on the peddle a few times shouldn't raise the revs if the pump isn't giving enough fuel..it would start to misfire then die. But if its revving up with a couple stabs of the peddle it might be a bad TPS sensor.

Have you checked the ecu for codes yet?
