After market wheels

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Has anybody found any info on the wheels in the manual?

I was lookin for some stylish 20'' but could get any details from the manual, i mean its obvious that it is a 5 bolt wheel, but what is the distance between two opposite bolts.

115mm?114.3mm?112mm?

I just did a search on "SDMF".

For the purposes of understanding what you're talking about... what does your version of "SDMF" stand for ?

Hi Mephisto75,

you obviously managed to import the EX to Germany? If so, would you mind to give me some detail about cost and headache involved, etc? I intend to do the same, although to France. The Froggies will put the spanner into the wheels, but maybe 'cause they are EU, it will be possible..

Sorry guys for changing the thread, it's late here in Saudi..

RegardsTom

Hey tomcatz59,

yeah I finally got my EX!!

About the information you're asking. - shipping from LA was 2300 Euros- Customs + VAT comes out 30%

I had an issue with the transport company it took me almost 4 month to get the car from LA to Hamburg. I would suggest you order a transport company where you live so that you can talk to them in person in case some thing goes wrong.

I guess the transport thing is a question of luck but what is quite a PIA is the technical inspection and registration in the EU. In Germany I had to go for a special inspection that cost 2000 Euros. But in my oppinion the worst is that nobody that you ask about can't definitally tell you what needs to be done to make the car according to the regulations.

However there are some other things you need to consider before importing an Infiniti to the EU.- reprograming the navigatgion system seems to be a problem(havent figured it out yet)- radio system doesn't match the EU frequencies partition.- big problem gettin service (some nissan dealership refused to make any service to an Infiniti). There is no big choise in after market what ever...I have a problem finding a second set of rims...

But after all its worth it and its fun driving an EX

I dont get it. while doing research on the ex I saw several videos of the ex being sold in europe. spain, italy, czech republic. so why would you not be able to get one in germany from within europe? jeez I even saw videos from israel.

Thanks a mill, Mephisto,

very informative and telling, appreciate. Maybe better if I never return to Europe, less trouble..that is if they don't blow up the Middle East...

@OneofOne

of course you can get an EX from Europe, but these are all either made for the US market or imported from the US. Infiniti has startet sales in Europe end of 2008. Originally they didn't plan to introduce Infiniti in Europe at that time. Later on they introduced a buch of new models like the ex37, fx37 etc specially designed for the EU. In avarage these models are different more than 1000 parts (according to the sales person, basically they are more expensive)
