I'm thinking of hooking up an after market rpm tech to my rb25, I wonder if any one out there has done it yet. My rpm 240 gauge is incorrect with the rb, some time I shift too soon and sometime shift 1s after red line. I need some help and tips....thank you...

I know there are 4 wires comming from the after-market rpm tach. 1-ground, 1-power source, 1-dash board light, 1-rpm signal. I don't know where to hook the rpm signal wire to. Do I hook it to one of the wire from the CAS or under the dash board. need help....

wire everything up on the tach with the exception of the tach output wire. take out you gauge cluster and touch the tach output to each wire that goes into the cluster, eventually, you will find the tach output signal wire. splice it in and your good to go. the tach output on the ecu doe NOT work. I just touched wires on the back of the cluster till i found one that gave me my signal. hope that helps.

I wanna say blue with yellow stripe, but if i really knew for sure, i would have let you know:) just hook everything else up, then with the cluster out but still connected, start inserting the actual tach signal wire into the backside of the connectors so you have wire to wire contact to see which one works. it takes a little while, but you will find it. i think its on the clip on the left side of the cluster.sorry, but thats the most i can help you.

ok guys, here is what's going on. I finally have time and got the autometer rpm tach hook in to s13 rb25. I got the lights, power, ground, and signal. I hook the signal from the back of the oem s13 cluster. I do get a signal to the autometer tach. Now the problem is..... the autometer tach move slow and wouldn't rev pass 3000 rpm. My oem s13 rpm is still reading all the way but incorrect reading.

The headache is... do you guys thing it's my autometer tach that's not working properly, or it will not work behind the s13 cluster...?

Any help would be appreciate.

make sure the tach is set for a 6 cylinder...you may need a tach adaptor for it to work.
