I am looking to add some after market mods to the a/c. I am new to this and am not sure what I am getting into yet. I do know that I can only take this so far with a stock engine, but how far? What are the limitations of the vq35de? How much hp/tq can it handle before it starts to break?

I figure your basic exhaust, cai, and headers are more than safe. What about going further? I am sure adding something such as a turbo or super charge would require more work to the engine, what about small shots of nos? What are some other basic mods that I can look into? I am not interested in taking the car into the turbo/nos section, but am more or less wondering what it can handle as a daily driver.

A small shot of laughing gas won't hurt. I was running a 50 shot NOS fogger system on my '94 SE-R SR20DE motor with no internal upgrades. Never had any problems, in fact, that motor went over 120K with intake, exhaust, headers, bored throttle body, and the NOS. The transmission gave out while the motor was still going. Parted it out though, because it was just too old of a car.

As far a SC is concerned, as long as it's something smaller like a Eaton M62, you shouldn't need any internal upgrades. Although I could be wrong. you might have to get bigger fuel injectors and maybe a fuel managment system.
