after market back up camera.

I just bought the 2001 QX4 with 112k miles, $6300..
my wife will drive the QX all the time, and we live in NYC. parking spots are very tiny.
so I want to install a back up camera for my wife. did anyone install the after market back up camera on the QX4?
where do you put the screen? can you post some pictures here?

Buy an aftermarket headunit with backup camera capabilities. I had a pioneer AVIC D3 and now an AVIC Z3 both with backup cameras. I installed mine just above the license plate.

In addition to a camera, if you have a trailer hitch, buy a rubber hitch cover for it. The hitch sticks out so far, it's almost always the first thing to make contact if you back into a vehicle while parallel parking. And if the hitch has a rubber cover on it, you won't damage the other vehicle (or your own) unless you hit it with a decent amount of force.

I'm not a perfect driver; I parallel park a couple times a day and bump the car behind me 3 or 4 times a year. The worst I've ever done is leave a small streak of rubber on the bumper, which I wiped right off with no visible damage underneath.

I wish they had a good one that mounted hidden or inside the car, I think it would get stolen pretty quick at a mall or something just on the liscence plate

Good call on the rubber piece for the hitch, I didnt know they even made those, Ive got such dark tint I can see much when backing up, but Im such a p**** I always leave like 3 feet cause I think I was inches away, a rubber protector would be a nice piece of mind!

Maybe I am, but my buddies dad had one on his Ram truck and it got stolen at a mall

Id want one hidden, or threaded into the bumper or hitch or something
