I don't know much about those filters, what I do personally is buy a lot of 5 filters at a time from a good supplier such as rockauto.com, they often have sales and shipping to Canada is reasonable. Grand total I pay about $10 or less for top filters from WIX or Fram. Then I swap in a new filter often, usually every year or 1.5 years whenever the filter starts to look dirty and doesn't pass the "light" test - I don't wait for the filter to become absolutely plugged before changing because by then it's too late.

I'm always puzzled by the long intervals that many owners will run an air filter, and most often it's because the garage doesn't recommend a filter a change as most owners don't actually check this item themselves. For $10 you get a lot of bang for your buck in terms of better air flow which contributes to engine efficiency and most likely slightly better filtering.

You can consider purchasing a high performance filter such as an oiled K&N or there are permanent higher performance "dry" filters as well, but I don't have much experience with these so I stick to good OEM replacement filters with short change intervals.

The YouTube demo was impressive provided it was done fairly, for example did they actually use the same particle size "dirt" for each of the 3 demos and same suction etc.. But it definately makes you think...

I use the K&N filter. Mostly because I'm lazy. They are easy to wash and re-oil. Nothing new to buy or discard. I figure I have one less air filter sitting in the landfill somewhere.

Why not? Just about every auto mfg in the world uses some form of paper element, including Nissan. They simply work.

I'm amazed at how many air filters keep showing up on the market every year... some with credible claims, others are just pure bogus. Many use so called 'airflow' tests to prove their filter flows better... but a filter's function is not to increase airflow, it's to filter out dust and dirt that can harm your engine!

I personally use NAPA Gold (made by WIX) air filters. They are similar to the OEM Nissan filters. Another good choice is the Amsoil Ea series: http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eaa.aspx.

I Never used a OEM filter lol until now. But I Heard great things about NAPA, if no one has any other Recommendations that I think that is legit then I'll go with Napa lol.

I use to not care about air filters. I always thought cotton gauze filters were the best, until I saw this video.

Based on what? Have you performed UOA's or something to test?
