I read tire calculation site and it said like after rim has been changed, actual speed/odometer and presented speed/odometer will have differences.

If it is so, is there any way to fix it?

or is it just comparison?

it is rediculus that i'm going 61mph after changing rim but speedometer is still indicating 60mph. don't we call it that it is broken?

haha...

triple dog gt has the option of calibrating your speedo to new tire size, otherwise use this to see the change in your speedo

Yeah I would keep the ratio of tire and rim the same as stock. For example keep it within 0-3% faster/slower. Generally you would want to get as close as possible to factory spec.

So for example if factory is 215/60/16 (16" wheel), then the new tire size would be somewhere around 255/35/19 (19" wheel). This would still be 0.5% too slow though, so when you are traveling 60MPH, you are actually traveling 59.7MPH. Slower is sometimes better... keeps you from speeding lol. But when it's off by 0.5% you're not going to notice it. When it starts getting off by 2%+ you will notice it.

Plus factor in what width rim you want. I went with a 9.5" rim all around (actually waiting for them to be delivered today or tomorrow). Make sure you're not stretching your tires too much if you go with a smaller width tire... WIDTH/HEGHT(Sidewall)/SIZE. For example, you're not going to put a 195/35/19 on a 9.5" rim... I dunno if that would even work, it would be hella stretched.

A bit of a stretched look is cool, but too much is certainly going to cause problems.

This is retarded:

Chalk it up to having cool aftermarket wheels and call it a day!

My odometer is close to spec, but who really cares? As long as its not saying something totally bonkers, it shouldnt really bother you.

Plus with the "Pennies add up" approach, you will put less miles on your car than you think

...Or am I totally off on that, I don't know how the odometer and speedometer are hooked up ???

Besides, unless if you tires are inflated perfectly 24/7, even with the stock tires the speed that you are going isn't exactly the speed the odometer is reading. Besides, whats the difference between going like 59.5 or 60mph. I dont think a human can consciously know the difference!

If i had time I'd add up how many less miles you will get on your warranty if you are going .5 mph slower than you usually are(at 60 and my ave mph is 30 so .25) but it's not going to be pretty. Thousands(?) of miles that are actually being added up by the time you reach 100k. But if you look at it the other way....60.5 then you'd be thousands of miles under your 100k warranty.

But that's something you have to consider if you don't get your aftermarket rims exactly like your stock ones. I for one personally don't care cause I'll probably have to trade mine in, in the coming years to get a nice house.
