that could just be the wheel rubbing on the crappy stock plastic wheel liner, easy way to deal with that is to just take em outLiz Aznnn wrote:One last thing, when I take quick left turns, the tires tend to rub on the wheel well I'm thinking, and it kind of tears the outside of the tires up, can anyone help me with any of this? Thanks so much in advance.
$4600:/ Seems like I kind of got ripped off with all the little things it needs, but apparently it does have "low" miles. Can't really tell if it's the truth since I bought it with a broken odometer.OutToWinPAHC wrote:how much was this car?
Now that I think about it... He did say something about the driver front bushing needing to be replaced. It's been a long day, haha. I have gotten 2 hours of sleep since Thursday night, which I had to go to school Friday then dip outta Nebraska to South Dakota.Ninjamasta wrote:Welcome...I know how you feel man, eventhough I got mine 10 months ago. How much did you pay for that car? About the tire sound, check your front bushing, old cars like ours tend to have worn out bushing and when you push the car too hard it would flex. What type of suspension do you have? Sometimes people do it the getto way and cut the spring just to look cool, and thats a big no no, check the springs. As for your parents... just find some help or darn good reason for your car like "I wanna be a mechanic, so I bought this old car to start with"
haha all good! I'm totally in love, I'll have to post pics soon and show you guys about the rear tires so it's easier to explain haha.mrgrape wrote:i love ur determination in getting a s14.GOING after ur dream is what we should all drive to do.I feel glad i have my s14 thanks to u.Lets live our dreams.
sounds gay but im high and thats what i felt!
Save up to fix the problems... yeah you kinda got beat on that, sounds like you jumped on the first one you found.Kalypso123 wrote:congratulations
save up for a motor swap
Yeah, I was like way too excited and didn't really check the whole car out before negotiating on the price. I found a dash with an airbag so that fixes my problem about the dash.Brandon1605 wrote:Not trying to burst your bubble or anything, but man you got screwed. If the airbag has been deployed, at least in my state, the car is considered totaled by the insurance companies. And, like someone said above, you gotta wonder why the airbag was deployed.
The biggest selling point for you and this car is the fact that it has under 100k miles. The catch there is that the odometer is broken, so how do you really know it has under 100k and hes not just lying? (And he probably was.)
The other issues are more or less minor, but still you have to consider them. I would try to get a Carfax report on the car and see what that says. I honestly wouldnt have paid more than 3000 for it.
But, good luck in your future plans for this car. If you plan to swap it, motor mileage isnt that big of a deal, same with it being auto. The dash will be an annoyance, but its not the end of the world. The other issues are all small repairs.
Yeah I tried to sell you mine, and it sounds like its in way better shape too. All I needed was a paintjob, and was gonna drop the price ontop of it. But hell....I cant argue with you, they are hard to pass up when your looking at them. Ive bought some hunks of crap, just cause I love the car. Good luck, and I have a cluster and a new sunroof for you. email is [email protected]Hoffman5982 wrote:^ majorly ripped off.I paid 5100 for mine and it was mint with some tasty upgrades.my first one was 2900 and it sounds like it was in better condition.but atleast you got the car you wanted.once you fix the dash and headliner,do a 5spd conversion and go from there.also, post some pics up
The title does say exempt... that kind of scares me. :/ Don't know the story on the airbags being deployed really. And no there's not an aftermarket steering wheel it's the original one but the jackass shoved the airbag back in the steering wheel. So I'm looking for the driver side airbag to buy.fukin240 wrote:
Nice Liz
Glad you found something...
What does the title say about mileage? Exempt?.. That means the car probably has well over 200k+.
Whats the whole story on the airbag deployed?
Is there an aftermarket steering wheel on it?
Can we see some pics?
But like you said, if all need be, tear it down to the ground, and rebuild it from the frame up
Hows the rust?
how much you want to let that driver side airbag go for? email me at [email protected]sr20power wrote:Well Congratulations on the car of your dreams! & welcome to NICO.
What's done is done on what you paid for the car. I would still look into the history of the car tho and hopefully the frame is straight.
When you get a chance post up some pictures and if you need a driver side airbag let me know I have one.
Good luck with the car!
if I put in a new cluster, will that then fix the odometer? I found one for about $120 shipped, so if you can beat that, I'm down for a deal, email me at [email protected] haha.driftneil wrote:Yeah I tried to sell you mine, and it sounds like its in way better shape too. You guys want to tell me that one more time? Apparently that hasn't gotten drilled into my head yet. Thanks.heartofaskyline wrote:ya you definately got screwed. you can get a running sr swapped s14 for 4500 now days
its cause you cant drive stick isnt it lol, just funnin with you.Liz Aznnn wrote:Plus, what if I didn't want an already swapped S14? What's the fun in that. The car may be all messed up. But it will be fun to make it look pretty and be the only girl probably in Nebraska with an S14.

Thanks!! I'm pretty excited to work on it though it'll be a pain, but it's all worth it. What kind of parts do you have for sale?kouki slydwyz wrote:hey Liz, congrats on your first s14. everything that is wrong with the car is really minor stuff. I'm pumped for you to turn that car around! And you buying it in that state just gives you the opportunity to make that s14 your s14. And when you sit back and look at it, it'll be that much most satisfying! Good luck. And I've got lots of zenki parts if you need any. Slide or die!
Let me know if those tokico's don't sell! lol, but I already got some '06 G35 wheels waiting for me to get them wrapped up.kouki slydwyz wrote:the s14's aren't too hard to work on. I've had my current one for 4 years now. and i have pretty much a whole front clip. and front and rear tokico blues too. but the tokicos might be gone soon.
Thanks but I just bought a cluster off ebay, I was scared someone else was gonna get it since it was a buy it now haha.fast_s13 wrote:i have a 95se cluster for sale has just over 100k on it...email me @ [email protected]
