So I'm finally getting set to bring out my car and I installed my AEM uego. When I first start the car it reads 14.8 then after like 5 to 6 seconds it goes to 15.x, 16.x and it eventually maxes out 17.9... If I'm nor mistaken that is dangerously lean at idle. When I rev up the engine it gets rich and the lights go into green but as soon as I let go of the throttle it maxes 17.9

I found that the injectors grommets (not o-rings) were leaking. I sprayed the entire rail and heard hissing. So I snugged down the fuel rail and its no longer leaking. Also the flange from the BOV is leaking, I found this by spraying soapy water around it. Anyone have any idea what else I can check? I had a Rom-tune by Enthalphy.

Do you have any exhaust leaks before the sensor? If so it's possible that fresh air is entering the system and giving you a false reading.

I'm not sure. I mean I can't really hear a leak as its pretty loud. I guess I would have to smoke test it but I don't want to drive it out to the shop. Also is it possible I routed my vacuum lines incorrectly?

a vacuum leak would lean out your idle. Do a boost leak test to see if you have any vacuum leaks, then move onto exhaust. An exhaust leak is pretty loud, you should be able to hear it unless you're running open downpipe or something.

Speaking of which, if you are running open downpipe, how close to the end is the sensor? Any fresh air will cause a bad reading.

I actually checked all my lines and they seem fine. I have and individual line from the tb nipple to the BOV and a individual line from tb to fpr. I'm running one line from the lower nipple which reads boost only Td for the ebc main unit and boost gauge. As for the ebc solenoid I have a line from charge pipe to the com port and a line from the wastegate to the no port

As far as boost leak test, how does that work?

No I can't hear a exhaust leak at all. I know they are quite distinguishable. The uego sensor was installed about 36" away from the turbo elbow I believe. No open pipe, its all put together.

Pics of the engine bay/setup may help.

Ok I will post some up after work. I have some pics but not closeups of the vacuum setup. I have a Greddy intake so the nipples are reversed.

I searched the boost leak test and I can either make my own setup or buy one... I'll look more into it.

So I managed to borrow the Redline smoke machine from the shop, going to check it out tomorrow. Wish me luck, I plan to drive my car to JDMchicago

The smoke machine revealed 3 leaks.

One from brake boost hose to check valve
One from torn hose at wastegate to boost controller solenoid
And the last from unused port at oil catch can which I now capped off

Afrs changed a little. Now they stay slightly longer at 14.8 at idle but will drop to 17.9 again after like 30 seconds. I just found that when the BOV opens, (release throttle), air rushes out the coupler from the hot pipe to intercooler

do u already have a hose going from the catch can to the intake? if not, doing dso might help.

Yes I have two hoses coming off it actually. One hose from fitting at engine block to one end of T at valve cover, another hose from other end of T to catch tank, and one hose from intake to other nipple at catch tank. For some reason the catch tank has another nipple, thats the one I capped off
