I am running the aem ems. I just noticed this today, it was the first day i drove it since it was tuned. On a cold start my afr are really rich about 10 then when it warms up the afr go to a constant 12.5 at idle. This seems to be really rich. Also when i first start the car the car will idle really high about 1500rpm then it will start to fluctuate from 1000 to 1500 until I tap the gas a few times. Also when I start the car it seems that the car wants to die like it kind of chokes out then starts(the rpm will go to about 1000 then the engine sounds lie it is catching up). Is this because of the rich idle afr? I wont be able to get the car tuned again for another 2 weeks. So I need to know if it will be safe for me to drive the car for another 2 weeks. Thanks.

With AEM EMS you can set the amount of time the car is in cold start mode. Or I believe it can operate like a normal ECU and just use water temp, oil pressure etc. Cars always run in the 12's during a cold start, but they should move up to the high 14's low 15's at idle. You can drive your car like that, you're just going to get AWFUL gas mileage.

If you have a catalytic converter, it will be close to dead by the time you get the car tuned. Anything richer than 11:1 is fatal for cats.
