Just joined the site and wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I recently just bought a 2006 M45. I have always loved infiniti's and had a 2003 FX 45 that I wish I never got rid of. I've had Audi's, BMW's and a few Nissan's but was always highly impressed with infiniti. I also just got rid of a Trailblazer SS with a stroker engine and a Kenne Bell supercharger that made 500+ RWHP and miss the power.

I have since added a Stillen cat back and an Ingen CAI. The car sounds great and with the CAI it's a little stronger but being a horsepower junkie I wanted to see if anyone has gotten into the 400 HP range with these cars. It doesn't look like there is much else out there aside from exausts and intakes but just wanted to see if anyone could help. I know this is probably not the best car to make big power with and I should just leave it be ( and kill the warranty) but I never back down from a challenge. A few places suggest a 75 shot but i'm not really a big nitrous fan.

Thanks for the help.

Mark (Scottsdale AZ)

Welcome to NICO!

You also live in a place which has one of the best Infiniti dealers ... Scotsdale Infiniti! Joe Tsensky at their parts department is a long-time supporter of our site, and has excellent prices for parts.

Unfortunately, there isn't a source for after-market performance enhancing stuff for the M45. The M35 has more possibilities available ...

I'll have to stop by Scottsdale infiniti. I usually go to Pinnacle for service. I kind of figured there wasn't much available for the 45. I've called around to some local shops and apparently there is no tuning software available for these engines. Like anything, not enough demand and the aftermarket guys won't develop it. It looks like there is room where the intake is to put a centrifigal blower there. Any ideas? I know nothing about these engines and don't want to break anything. I'm going to call a few more reputable shops around town and see what I can find out. I've seen some crazy stuff and somebody out there has got to have a high HP M45. Is there anyone here who has done nitrous? I talked to one shop and they said they have done a few cars with a 75 shot setup.

Turbos or a blower would do. I would be willing to R&D one if there are willing buyers. I think 5psi would be about max, but it would probably get us up to 400ish for daily use.

Let me know...Kyle

Do you have a shop? What do you think would be the better option. I think the supercharger might be easier and less costly. Is there a kit for the M35? If you can get 400+ HP you'd be close to M5 territory.it would be great if Stillen or some other aftermarket companies would come out with a kit that could be warrantied. I bet there would be a lot of interest in it.

Probably a lot, I suspect.

The old Keulian turbo for the 2002+ Q45 (same engine as our M45) used to be in the $10k range installed, as I vaguely recall.

Yes ... for most people, it was the same. Probably the reason why Keuylian does not exist anymore ...

The Keuylian Group still exists, but not many if any of the VK45DE they supercharged do.

Look at Marksport's previous experience and his present build.

Ah!

I thought that Keuylian had gone out of business ... I was unable to track them down some years ago (web site was gone), so I assumed - incorrectly, I guess.
