afc readings

so i have an safc2 and is reading a lower rpm reading than what my tach is reading. which one is telling the truth lol

how much lower? and at what rpm? does it vary with engine speed?

yea at idle my tach says about 1000the afc says about 5-600at 65mph my afc says 1500 and my tach says about 2500-3000 which sounds right for the tach reading ya know?

yeah, sounds like its a bad ign lead for the safc. which wire are you running it from?

i do believe its at the tach signal....i had it installed by my tuner guy so i wouldnt know for sure....

BTW gtr, awhile back when i mentioned the fact about me getting an safc2 u said good luck with timing my engine...am i supposed to do something in order to time it now?

no, no. i meant that with the safc2 you cannot control ignition timing. i couldnt pull enough timing with my stock ecu and i kept getting bad detonation. i just feel the safc is an inadequate tuning device.

k cuzmy timing is off.. it hesitates like hell when i hit boost and its pissing me off....

though somewhat of a pain, its totally worth going back in there and fixing it.

i just advanced a few degrees. i think im at 18 degrees and now it sees boost a lil more nicley....tho still alil more tweaks here and there maybe.....
