I did a search on the dec-air setting and came across nothing.. Thats why im posting

Who out there is running a ka-t motor with open atmsophere bov and using the dec-air settings to keep the motor from stalling during shifts or shifting to N from gears...??

Can u send me ur settings to see if it works on my car or explain to me how to do this procedure..

ThanksRobert

This is quoted from Sructure240sx..hes been very succuessful with his SAFC so this should help..

when the car is completely cool start it up. have the safc mointoring throttle %, air flow, and rpms. have the engine at 1000rpms and write down the air flow. then have the engine at 2000rpms and write down the throttle % and air flow.

now go to the dec. air settings. the THR setting is the throttle % you documented at 2000rpms. the NE1 setting is the air flow you had at 1000rpms. the NE2 setting is the air flow you had at 2000rpms. this will get you very close to the settings you need. may not be perfect but very close. this will allow you to run an atmospheric bov without stumbling between gears

I run open BOV still and I've never had a problem with stalling down at 2k rpm, which the highest rpm the dec air settings will have an effect. The place you feel the rich is you for some reason let off in a high RPM and then throw it in netural, or between a hard shift it bogs for a second. Might have some more serious problems if you are stalling out just driving around.

damnit you should edit that name, jk

i think i still have the problem of going into neutral above say 3500rpms, but i jsut let it coast down in gear. the other benefit of this is saving fuel. ecu's generall cut fuel until 1500rpms. on a wideband while crusing down in gear you will see it say air, O2, go like 40:1
