How bad did you mangle your CAS to install the disk?
Image

I got mine in but it was a HUGE pain in the a**. The disc was a little bent too so I tried to straighten it out as much as I could so it didn't touch. AEM S2 btw.

The hardest part I found in the disassembly of the CAS was separating the two halves of the shaft to get the trigger disc out. I didn't have any issue in reassembly withe the new disc, though.

use a center punch it helps a lot. The vice didn't help too much. You need 2 people to do it tho.

I agree on the center punch. I did it by myself, but a second person would've been VERY helpful. TAKE YOUR TIME - if you get in a hurry and get frustrated, you'll destroy it.

careful not to seperate the sensor from its self, do not remove the two screws in the sensor...i did this and it damaged the cas causing nasty timing drift.

Yeah the AEM instructions say not to remove them. Too bad tho it would make the install easier if you could.

You don't have to take the bearing off of the shaft to do it. I took the screws out of the shaft base. The heads are partially under the CAS disk. Grab them by their sides with a pair of needle nose vise grips, they break loose easily. Once out, swapping the wheel is easy. I bent my AEM CAS wheel a little bit on the reinstall. It still works fine.

I have a tuned rb26 and then i rebuilt it to a Rb30 and made a few changes. I ditched the Nissan ignitor and coils and went with AEM.

I have a RB26 and I had a wiring harness made for the following setup.

AEM Series 2 EMS
AEM Twin Fire ignition
AEM 30-2853 smart coil (5pin)

I have the three switches on the twin fire to ON
S1 being multi-strike
S2 is Trigger edge (Falling edge= on, rising= off)
S3 is Wasted Spark (720=on, 360=off)

I have gone to the Setup Wizard and selected
Coil Dwell: "All CDI systems 3ms charge time"

Battery Vs Volts is now a straight line at 3ms
Dwell Vs RPM is now a straight line at 100

Under the Coil/Inj Tab
Coils 1-6 are Trailing Edge with the phasing left alone

Is it ok to try to crank it?

Thanks,
Lee

My tach signal was also dead, I can walk you through it but I rather not type it out if you want to call

I got a reply from the AEM forum. It turns out on the RB25 calibration the tach isn't setup. I copied the tach setup from the RB26 calibration tach setup and bam it's working again.

Got any cold start tips? Outowinpahc? I'm in socal so it's not too cold out here. When I crank it over it starts to try to run at really low rpm.

First thing.... Set the TPS wizard, then get it running and do the tying sync wizard.

I could send you my map if you injectors are similar, you can select your own senors and such

The preloaded tunes are very very basic and TPS mapping only... The idea is you can get it to a trailer and get it tuned.
