aem tru boost question

hey i just got this in and im kinda stuck when i hook up the two red wires in teh instructions it sayd hook them up to a switcheed,fused +12VDC. i know what swicthed 12vdc is but what do they mean by fused?

run a fuse(whatever amp is recommended) between the switch and the power source.
