hey guys i have a ca18 and I just purchased a series 2. I searched the forums but i didnt find any information. I have called aem and looked for other sources but I have not found a base map for the series 2. I was wondering if I could use another basemap from another EMS to get the started easier. If not do you know if the SR20 or any RB series Cam angle sensor compatible (modify the unit) https://www.amazon.com/AEM-30-8760-CAS- ... B007ZGEJLS or http://www.rawbrokerage.com/aem-cam-ang ... disk-rb25/ ?

or does anyone happen to know the dimensions of the CAM Angle Sensor for a ca18det?

I found a nissan pulsar but i believe its for a sr20 engine the disk was 54MM compared to the ones above which i believe are 50MM?

any info or insight would help , I would love to get this thing on the road again.

ca18 CAS are old and failure prone (worn splines/key). Tons of threads on em.
One more element I'd like to take out of the equation... =crank pulley trigger wheel/sensor/bracket

With enough poking around, I'm hoping u will find the disc/info. Megasquirt page says CAS difficult to fiddle with

Too bad we don't have a 'resident' CA18 megasquirt guru.... like our starion club, the ford 2.3sohc, miata guys, etc...
Plug n play systems with loaded maps, to get u up and running quickly ~$6-700

I'm about 90% sure that those ECU's required you to change the trigger wheel out of the CAS to a more simple design. Nissan's trigger pattern was complicated and hard to set up in most ECU's, so AEM ended up having a more typical trigger pattern wheel made.

I'm pretty sure it's PN 30-8760, but I would pull your CAS apart and make sure it's a 50mm OD and has a "D" center hole pattern.

While AEM sort of made a Series 2 for the CA, it was basically a generic ECU and wasn't all that PnP. What you have should be AEM PN 30-6620 (Unless it's older, it could also be PN's 30-1620, 30-1621, 30-1622). If you upload the correct calibration file, and do the setup properly, it should be a good starting point. But I don't think there's an actual tuned for a CA basemap available, unless someone made one and then was willing to share it.

Also keep in mind that if this is an 8 port head and you want the power valves to work properly, there's going to be some more setup there, as I'm not sure AEM had that ready to work out of the box.

Thanks guys, well I ended up digging and it’s the rb25 aem cas disk that works. Also float is right there is no base map. There was a guy I met he has tuned for while. He made a base map using the sr20 basemap and adjusted the f*** out of the map to make it work. Runs good, going to up the boost to see where we are at. Currently I think it sits at 11-12 psi and is 179 torq/178-179 hp

Sure will, Car has been down for a month and a half. I've been waiting on a clutch from clutch masters, once I have the car back up and running I'll post a pic with some updates.

I had an EMS Series 1 because it was compatible with the CA18. I also had a basemap, but for Series 2, you're kind of s*** outta luck.
