I bought this part from another member on this sight and am having troubles with installation. I bought it from him in brand new shape for the S13 w/o the instructions. After all the old stuff was out of the way, I tried lining up the Al piping using the welded bracket on the pipe. I found that after I did that, the piping would not line up with the TB. it was almost 1/2 in. off to the left. I continued to put everything on but since the bracket would not line up with the mounting point on the car, I had to zip-tie it in place to keep it from moving. Now the MAF hits some type of black cylindrical canister. What should I do. I def. know this is for the S13 and I've never had an accident that would change things. Please help.

is your car a dohc or a sohc? that might be the difference.the intake might be for the opposite one from the one you have.the black cylinder with the vacuum lines going to it is the evap canister.

My car is DOHC (1992). The seller told me that when he had test fitted it on his car, it lined up perfectly. Could the NISMO mounts I installed have something to do with the problem? I know they cause problems with headers, but I've never heard anything about intakes. Can anyone help?

Thanks for the suggestion. Please visit this site and enter the album "240SX Intake."

For one or two of the images (DSC01022, DSC01023) you will see the boot that attaches to the throttle body is slightly warped, but will spring right back) since I had to force it into place. I couldn't move it anymore. You will also see how the MAF adapter is very close to the carbon canister. Maybe I overlooked something very important out of my own stupidity, but in the meantime, I can't figure it out.

it looks like the right one but poor quality as far as fitment.it's a common problem with aftermarket parts. i've seen worse but that's pretty bad.if it bothers you, i would call aem about it and maybe they might send you a new one or something. i figure, it doesn't hurt to try.

No, but let me explain first. I bought it used from someone on this forum. I emailed him about the fitment, but he told me that before he sold it, he had tested it on his car and it fit perfectly. He wasn't having the same problems that I had. I had even spoken to a tech guy at AEM about it and we verified that it was the correct part. I mean, this isn't an eBay part, it comes from a reputable maunfacturer. I can't get a new one since I bought it used, thus not having a reciept. I checked the piping before I put it on the car, and tried to find any imperfections, but there were none. When painted metals are under stress, the paint will crack/chip, and this wasn't the case. The only thing that I can think of that's wrong is that the part may have been damaged when the UPS store packed it or my car has problems. Lastly, I don't want to switch my motor mounts just yet b/c if they aren't the problem, I don't want to have to waste time or have any downtime with the car since it's my DD. Does anyone have any suggestions?
