I recently purchased and AEM intake for my 93 240SX PS13 and i went to install it, and now I am totally baffled...After I pulled out my stock intake and hoses, i realized that underneath there is a fairly large hose that hooks to the bottom of my stock intake (close to the engine- not near the intake box) that you can't see from above. I can't tell where it goes to, it seems to go toward the front near the fan or something, but I have no idea...Worse yet, there isnt a place for it on the AEM intake to hook in. The guy I bought it from just had his hanging out, disconnected and said that it wasnt for anything (but he recently blew his stock engine) so im not taking any chances.

Does anyone know what this bottom hose is for- and if it needs to be plugged in what I can do???

it just goes to a breather type box next to the fan (like the one under your stock air box). if you look down the tub about 6 inches youll see the clamp that holds it on. you can just remove the tube and the box. or just take the tube off because the box is a ***** to get to without removing other stuff.

yeah codeman nailed it. I would remove the box though. It just takes up space, and in my case it was filled with water(not sure how), so removing it took off a couple pounds. ha

It's a resonator designed to improved low- and mid-range torque.

It's "tuned" to work with the stock intake box and tubing...so once you change those, it's worthless...remove it.

Not having it will NOT damage anything.
