I recently purchased and AEM intake for my 93 240SX PS13 and i went to install it, and now I am totally baffled...After I pulled out my stock intake and hoses, i realized that underneath there is a fairly large hose that hooks to the bottom of my stock intake (close to the engine- not near the intake box) that you can't see from above. I can't tell where it goes to, it seems to go toward the front near the fan or something, but I have no idea...Worse yet, there isnt a place for it on the AEM intake to hook in. The guy I bought it from just had his hanging out, disconnected and said that it wasnt for anything (but he recently blew his stock engine) so im not taking any chances.

Does anyone know what this bottom hose is for- and if it needs to be plugged in what I can do???

i have the aem intake on my 95, the hose underneath the stock tube is a diffuser for the stock intake, it makes it quiet and also robs you of about 5 horsepower, theres no problem in disconnecting it, there are no sensors and it is not hooked up to anything, its just a airbox with no inlet. it won't cause any problems. i couldn't really get to mine, but i would just take it out to get rid of it.

you can take it out, its an intake resonator, which lowers intake sound, it'll make your intake sound more but its fine, shouldn't cause any idle issues or blow up the engine.remove it to make some space in there.

I removed mine, not cause i got the aem intake but cause i got an S14 auto radiator(its a bit bigger) and so that part wouldn't hook up well and was hitting somewhere.
