Guys

An AEM EMS for an RB26 (part number 30-1620) was stolen off my doorstep sometime around monday afternoon. I spoke to the UPS driver today and he physically showed me where he put the package, and obviously I dont have it. Normally this would be an odd request but this was the only AEM in the country right now......now someone has it. Please be on the lookout

Thanks

Andy

We'll all keep an eye out. that sucks big time. I had some wheels stolen (probably by the ups guy) a while back. but they were blantantly wheels with cardboard taped over them for protection. It's odd someone would steal a random box off your doorstep without knowing whats inside. could have been clothes for all they knew.

yeah thats fubar and snafu (points for ppl who know the references) if anything they will reimburst you for the value of it (i think ems is like 2k) and you could buy a haltech with permade harness or something equivelent (not with ease of use as a haltech tho)

I know the references, and use them daily

I am an AEM distributor so I get a pretty good deal on them, which is one of the reasons why i went with it. The item was insured to its full value so hopefully everything turns out alright

Man... people just cant have nice things without some a$$ stealing it anymore....

I hope AEM ems works out for you, however im going a completely diff way with my RB25DET. Ill be running Nistune when its completed so i dont have to pay out the complete *** for it.... Nistune ftw.

man, that's an expensive box.

i hate it when fedex and ups just put the box on the porch and leave. they're so stupid for doing that. they just need to leave a card and you go to their station to get the box if they missed the delivery.

Thats odd, UPS here in oklahoma does that...I've ordered several parts from RHD japan and i've had them at my door step in in three days, which i didnt expect....

Lawl.....

I love how people think oklahoma is like that. There are parts like that...just about anywhere in the midwest.....Stereotypes for the win....

I live in a city with a total suburb included population of near 1 million, not a bum **** pasture, but other than that, i dont need to explain myself, and the fact that you're joking

i have more faith in the post office than i do with ups or fedex.anything ive ordered from overseas has always gotten to me safely and unharmed thru ems/global priority, but everytime i get a box from ups it looks like they kicked it a round a few times and hit it with a bat for good measure.fedex is a little better but not much...

haha Yeah i'm just kidding.I've never been to Oklahoma, only place I've been in the mid west is St. Louis. Awesome city.

Yeah UPS pretty much does beat your packages. They throw them and pile heavy boxes on top of light ones etc...The bats I've yet to see, but I'm sure they've thought about it. lol

same here, usps always leave me a card telling me to go pick it up if they missed the drop-off. but again, i have lost packages through usps, too. so insurance and tracking # is a must.

Call AEM and find out the serial number as they are all serialized and it should be a fairly low number (mine is s/n 15) .Once you get it put the word out to watch for s/n xx aem ems 1620.

I called AEM and they dont do any serial # tracking. They said most units that get swiped have the labels removed off them anyways, and then AEM refuses to service them after that

Well, I have an update, a good one.

I found the EMS, its in Orlando (item was delivered to central IL originally)

Now this is where it gets really f*cked up. About two weeks ago I ordered a set of headstuds for the RB26. My vendor goofed and sent me headstuds for a CA18DET. I called them that day and told them what happened, and they said they were issuing a call ticket, and would get the correct studs out asap.

I was unaware what a call ticket even was at that point, but what it is, is an exchange process by the shipper. They ship you the correct item, and at the time of delivery, the carrier picks up the incorrect item and ships back to the origin, at the expense of the shipper.

What ended up happening on monday was this:

UPS guy comes at 11AM, delivers my EMS

Fedex guy comes some time later, drops of my correct headstuds, assumes the UPS box sitting there is the package that needs to be returned, so he grabs it, ships it back to the shipper. My vendor called me this afternoon to inform me of this, and I'll have my EMS on monday:)

Thanks for those of you who responded

Andy

That's insane.

Glad to hear it was just an error though and not theft.

Great news man! Glad to hear it was a 'simple mistake' and it should be there shortly. I know that I would be HOT if somone jacked an EMS from my door. *as a side note* you can also contact your local hub or FedEx / UPS when you get your tracking #, and have them hold it at the terminal / place a sticker showing it is at the terminal. They should do this when it is over a few hundred $, but that depends on how the order was setup. (Former FedEx'er)

Thats what UPS has been doing since monday (when the incident happened) They were holding 2 packages at UPS for me, and I think over a certain value is what Fedex holds stuff. Fedex is about 10 mins from my house, and UPS is about 5 mins from my work, so picking stuff up isnt that much of an inconvenience
