hey guys, i'm not to savvy with the electronic side of the car and i was wondering if i still need to have my wiring harness altered if i buy a AEM EMS? Couldn't i just buy a AEM EMS for my year of sr20det to control the enigne? or would that not work?

Edit: Oh i have a 90 s13 btw.

Thanks guys!-electronics n00b

match it to your application. they have different models for a reason.

yes i know they have different models and i just told you what my application was, but saying match it to your application doesn't tell me which one i should get. You must be female because thats a chick answer. The one designed for the 90 s13 US hatch or the one for the SR20DET (taking in to account which year my sr20det will be as i do not have one yet).

heh heh heh. No I'm not an idiot trying to make my life harder. If you don't have an sr yet, hold off on buying the ems. Get it running and then get the ems in to make troubleshooting easier. If you're asking questions as to whether or not the ecu is chassis specific rather than engine specific, maybe you should reconsider getting an engine swap when you've clearly got no idea what you're doing.

ive swapped an engine before just not a turboed engine. Not that that has anything to do with it, but your correct. I figure the best way to learn is by doing. I have never ran an EMS before and that is mainly why i have no idea in this area. My previous swap was into a camaro with a v8. I'm trying to understand before i do the purchase so i can have things laid out correctly.

*edit: if i knew what i was doing and was awesome at engine swaps id be doing an RB25DET swap instead, but i want to do the SR20DET because there is wider support and more help if i get confused or need help.
