The AEM EMS Series 2 has a plug and play feature for the RB series engines.

I just wanted to make sure that by dropping in an RB20DET into a 77 Datsun 280z would still allow me to use the AEM EMS. Its $1700 USD and I do not want to drop any more money into the project than what is needed.

the answer is yes it will be fine as the ecu is engine loom specific, not chassis specific.

whats wrong with the stock rb20 ecu?

I bought an NICS RB20 and am replacing the head with an ECCS head. I only have the NICS ECU and buying an ECCS ECU will just add more paperweights to my collection.
