Converting to MAP with the EMS is extrememly simple. Basically just remove your MAF and set up all your piping as normal-- the MAP sensor just gets a vaccum source from the manifold somewhere, and then gets pinned into the EMS (the MAP also gets a +5v reference source and a sensor ground). Setting up the MAP in the EMS is as simple as picking your MAP sensor from a list.

Open venting the BOV with a MAF is a different story, which I am not entirely familiar with-- someone else should be able to help you out here, although I do beleive it is either difficult or impossible to do without having issues. Why would you use a MAF with the EMS anyways? That would be such a waste-- the MAP sensor is like 30 bucks, free if you order it from certain vendors.

Going with AEM so you can run your BOV open is like using a sledgehammer to install finishing nails....lol.

u can run an open bov with maf. i do it currently with no issues. i am using the safc one (silver with blue display which has no knock sensor thingy) with a non blow thru setup and a greddy type s. my idle holds perfect if i drop into neutral. Now the only issue i really have is if i am boosting and shift right into neutral; then again, doing that is just asking for a stall lol. I did it tho to find out how good the decel function really is so unless u plan on doing sumthing like that day in day out, u can run an open bov with the maf.........

The E-manage from greddy has an anit-stall feature that Is what I plan on using once I get a bov on the greddy kit, plus it can do fuel and timeing for about $550 or so for the whole package. You might want to look into that.

The anti stall function on the greddy Emanage clamps the MAF voltage to keep the car from stalling. This also messes with cold start. With the MAF voltage clamped you wont have the fueling to get the car started cold.

im 90% towards the EMS and 10% to the emanage the only difference is price, but for very good tunning and lack of headaces the ems wins.

how so? the emanage clamps MAF value only withing a certain rpm window which is user adjustable.

What I though also correct me If I'm/we're wrong tho plz, and In no way am I saying the e-manage holds a candel to the EMS but once cost is a factor. I just don't got the funds

usually, if you can afford a standalone, you can spare an extra $40/yr towards inspection

well, obd2 you have to have the reddiness codes and such in your computer, and thats why I didnt want an sr or an RB, they dont have those in their computers, but the 96 and up ka's do, I want to be able to pass inspection with out greasing a palm, thats just my feelings on it
