What are the advantages and dis-advantages of each? The EMS sounds a bit overkill for a 350-400 RWHP setup. The kit I am purchasing comes with the E-Manage, but I am also concerned that it will not be enough, or I will have to purchase an SAFC, or have problems getting all of the piggy-backs to work in harmony with each other. Between the E-manage, the Profec E-Manage controller and if nessecary, an SAFC, I think both will end up coming out to cost about the same. How hard/easy to tune each of them are, and how effective both will be are the main comments I'm after.

Its a no brainer. The AEM EMS all the way.

The emanage is just a tool that alters your MAF voltage. With the optional ign harness, you can also take timing away. Thats it. The maps you have to tune are set up horribly. They make no sense and make it extreamly difficult to tune. All the part throttle tuning you do is going to over ridden by the factory closed loop parameters. No matter what you do, your TRYING to alter a factory computer that was set up to run NA and not boosted. Your fighting a loosing battle.

AEM EMS gets rid of your MAF restriction. Allows you ABSOLUTE control over timing and fueling in additon to just about ANYTHING else you can think of. NOS control, AT trans control, boost control, shift light, traction control, etc etc etc. The datalogging capability of the AEM EMS alone is worth the price of the unit. It cant be beat.

Its cheaper to get the "U" version of the EMS then to buy the non "U" and then add a UEGO. BUT...... Here is the kicker. The UEGO has a control box that basically converts the WB O2 sensor signal into a 0-5 V reference that the EMS can use to determin AF ratio. The regular UEGO (no gauge) will read AF from 10 to 20:1 as will the "U" option EMS (it has the controller built into the EMS box) but the UEGO Gauge has the controller built into the gauge and it will only detect AF ratio down to 11:1. So keep that in mind when placing your order. If you plan to spray your car or ever expect to see AF lower then 11:1 then order the right stuff.

Call me at the shop and I can talk you thru what you need to order.

Our AEM package has everything included that you will need to convert to speed density.

The ever informative Ivan, thanks very much. I assumed as much, considering all of the available features of the two, so I guess when the turbo kit comes, I'll be placing a Greddy E-Manage on eBay. Actually, does your shop offer a full turbo kit, or planning to do so?

Nevermind, I didn't realize it was on Phat Ka-t.
