How does it compare with the powerFC?

AEM has probably the most complete stand-alone computer setup on the market. It is superior to most of the other stand-alones. Enthalpy over at Secret Services made a post about it a while back on Freshalloy.

So it's better than the apex power FC? How do you tune it? Computer? Is it easier to tune?

damn! 1500 bucks? i figured it'd be expensive, being an AEM product, but that almost seems rediculous

Reading the AEM forums, the tech there said it won't be out for some time, but it IS being worked on as of now and released when ready. It is basically in it's prototype stage.

Sounds like a good idea but man when you start doing stand alone systems, its a whole new headache. Just be sure someone who really knows how to tune AEM to tune it. Lots can go wrong. I talked to lots of guys who had AEM and sold it within a few months. One of the biggest problems with a lot of supra owners with AEM is that sometimes, their car just won't start.

It is a full on, plug and play, stand alone engine management system. $1500 is an awesome price. Do you have any idea what an Electromotive TEC-3, or a HalTech system costs? Last I checked, the Electromotive is somewhere in the $2500 price range for the unit itself.
